For the week of Feb. 18, 2024: Paris hosts the Summer Olympics in July for the third time.  Vancouver will not host the Winter Games for a second time, after the NDP government refused to back the 2030 bid.  The 14th anniversary of the Vancouver 2010 opening passed without fanfare last week. The Games left a mixed legacy. Real estate and tourism boomed. Homelessness and addiction also skyrocketed.
